Earlier this evening, Mark Gurman over at 9to5Mac dropped quite the bomb of Apple exclusives as he usually does.  He speaks on more details on some of the big things we can expect from Apple this year – namely the iWatch and iOS 8.  Both are said to focus on utilizing sensors to measure your body’s info.  More on everything below.

iOS 8

First things first, don’t expect a huge overall like last year’s iOS 7.  There will be the usual minor enhancements.  Some of its new additions will focus on health & fitness and will of course work hand-in-hand w/ the forthcoming iWatch.  There will be a new app dedicated to all of your H+F info called…

Healthbook

In Healthbook it will help monitor a variety of your body metrics w/ a UI that would resemble & behave like the Passbook of iOS 7.  You would be able to measure steps taken, calories burned, miles walked, manage/track weight loss but takes it a step further as well. You can record your blood pressure, hydration levels, heart rate, glucose levels, etc.  You can also set reminders to take medications as well as it is said to be integrated within the Reminders app.  It will come pre-installed in iOS 8 of course.

iWatch

The enigmatic Apple peripheral everyone’s been waiting for is set to finally launch later this year.  It will of course rely on your iPhone and will take advantage of the M7 co-processor.  Being able to measure all of the data mentioned above, it will have sensors galore.  Apple has been working to fit several different sensors into a single chipset.

Definitely a slightly, different approach than many would have predicted.  What do you guys think about iOS 8 and the iWatch info thus far?  Sound off in the comments.
