Although the Mobile World Congress didn’t kick off just yet, LG can’t wait to unveil their latest refresh of last year’s G Pro.  It’s definitely bigger than last year’s model but comes w/ beefier internals and a few additional bells + whistles.  Continuing to go head-to-head w/ the Galaxy Note, LG hopes to level the playing field a bit.

The Optimus G Pro gets a modest update for 2014.
The G Pro 2 is super-thin at 8.3mm thick as it sports a bigger, 5.9inch 1080p HD display, powered by a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, running Android 4.4 KitKat, 3200 mAh battery, microSD slot, a 1W Hi-Fi speaker that pumps out 30% louder audio, and a 13MP camera w/ OIS capable of recording video in 4K resolution + 120fps slow-motion video.

On the software side of things LG has carried over the rear-controls + Knock-To-Unlock (Knock-On) from the G2 over to here.  On the G Pro 2 they’ve added the Knock Code in addition to Knock On where you can create more than 86, 000 unlocking codes by tapping on different section so the screen.

The G Pro 2 was just announced in Korea as we can lookout for more details either during MWC or sometime in April for US availability.
