Yesterday was a big day for Android as Google unveiled the future of their smartwatch platform w/ Android Wear. The star of the show was Motorola’s take on it w/ its rounded display and premium-looking build. Earlier today, Motorola took to Google Hangouts to discuss the Moto 360 in a bit more detail. It wasn’t much but here’s what we got from it.
- It will support Motorola and other Android devices running OS 4.3 and higher.
- In regards to charging, there’s no USB port present but there will be some form of wireless charging. With Motorola it could be more than just a Qi-based wireless charging method.
- You can expect decent-to-great battery life thanks to the lessons learned from the company’s previous fitness/smartwatch attempt called the ACTIV. This played a part in the Moto X’s battery and power management systems.
- Don’t expect a camera on board (Thank God).
- The watch will be water-resistant (not water-proof).
They didn’t get into any juicy details like specs or pricing but a few gems to add onto the little we know about it.
If you missed the Hangout, you can watch the replay when you hit the link.
