With Google I/O coming in a few months, there has been plenty of word on hardware but nothing really about new changes in software – until now. According to sources for Android Police, Google is looking to take the power of Google Now and spread it throughout the entire OS. This is probably most interesting tidbit of news in regards to future Android software updates.
Google Now looks to grow into Google Everywhere.
So this would allow Android users who use the OK Google voice command in other screens/apps. For example, you’ll be able to say post a photo from your Gallery to the social network of your choice by saying ‘Share this photo’. So this looks to take Voice Actions from the Moto X and turn it up a bit.
Also with its new abilities, they’re looking to replace the onscreen Home button w/ a Google button. This will take you to the Google Search screen on pure Android devices. The Back button and Recent/Multitasking buttons get a redesign for a slightly different look.
If we’re lucky, this will be announced this year during Google I/O. Cross your fingers everyone.
