Yup, Netflix is raising their prices. It was bound to happen and the time is here. But don’t expect the jump to change things to like $19.99 or something like that. Expect it $1 or $2 increase. Don’t worry current subscribers as this won’t apply to you – just yet anyways. The price increase has been implemented for faster speed and better selection. Expect the increase to kick in sometime before summer.
Also, they plan to extend their service to DVR boxes. Unfortunately, don’t look for it on your cable box – at first anyways. It will kick off on TiVo DVRs first and then expand from there.
The company is doing quite well in growth thanks to the momentum created by their original series House Of Cards. They’re touting 48 million subscribers while their intended target HBO has 130 million. Godspeed to the folks over at Netflix.
