In the wee hours of the morning, HTC decided to make the details of the One mini 2 official. The company made sure to make it a bit more than just a smaller watered-down version of its flagship device. Looks like the previous rumor was dead on.
The One mini 2 sports a 4.5inch 720p HD display, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU, running Android 4.4 Kit Kat w/ the Sense 6 UI, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 5MP front-facing shooter, BoomSound speakers, microSD storage, NFC, and a 2100 man battery.
Say goodbye to the Duo Camera, IR Blaster, and Motion Launch.
Instead of using the same 4MP Ultrapixel, HTC opted for a 13MP shooter on the rear. So no depth sensor for UFocus and other depth-related features. Very curious to see the quality of the photos from that.
Overall its better than last year’s mini and possibly sports a better shooter than the M8. The One mini 2 is due out in June overseas while here in the US, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for launch details.
