i6 homescreenBased on several new reports, we are starting to truly see Apple’s vision for their upcoming iPhone. So far what we know is that we can expect a 4.7inch iPhone coming toward the end of summer. There’s also rumblings of a second 5.5inch size iPhone coming shortly afterwards as well. Now more details have come to light about the 4.7inch model on the spec side of things.

iPod Touch + iPhone 5s = iPhone 6

This morning Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac, states that we can expect a 1706 x 960 resolution on the new iPhone. The larger display would allow for icons + keyboard to be bigger and of course show more information. This would raise the pixel density up to 416pp on the 4.7inch model and 356ppi on the 5.5inch model therefore retaining Apple’s definition of a Retina Display. While still not high definition by HD standards, its getting there.

Word has it that we’re looking at an earlier launch than usual – like sometime in August early. This would be for the 4.7inch model while the 5.5inch is slated for a later launch a month or two later.

Expect to be thinner, faster thanks to a new A8 CPU, sport rounded corners, sapphire glass display, improved camera (still no word if it will be 8MP or higher yet), run iOS 8 that will offer new apps + features, Touch ID will do more, and possible NFC support.
