Still riding high off of the accolades they’re getting from the GH4, they decided to offer announce another 4K camera. Earlier this morning, Panasonic unveiled a new super-zoom camera w/ the Lumix FZ1000. This is dubbed as the world’s 1st digital compact camera w/ 4K video support.
Panasonic now has a 4K option that doesn’t break your wallets.
Similar to Sony’s RX10, the FZ1000 offers a 16x optical super-zoom lens w/ a 1inch 20.1MP sensor, 3inch articulating LCD display, ISO up to 12,800, a new lightning-fast autofocus system, NFC + Wi-Fi, shoot 4K video at 30fps, and high-speed video at 120fps.
Sadly you have no access to optical image stabilization while shooting video in 4K though. Other than that, this sounds like a great shooter by Panasonic. This is due out in July for only just under $900 at B&H.
