For those of you who maybe unaware, there has been talks of Samsung working on a headset similar to the Oculus Rift. The headset is set to be called the Gear VR as it will be joint project from Samsung + Oculus VR. The folks over at SamMobile just so happened to get their hands on a leaked render of what it will look like.
Samsung is looking to enter then realm of virtual reality.
Now this wouldn’t work exactly like Oculus. The Gear VR will use your smartphone to power the VR experience. You would place your phone inside of the phone dock as the headset will use your phone’s sensors to create VR effects. In other words, its a more improved version of Google’s Cardboard. I’m just a small bit curious behind it.
But anyways, we expect to see it unveiled at IFA this year alongside the Galaxy Note 4.
