While the rest of the world will have a little wait to handle Sprint's new AQUOS Crystal Smartphone, I had the pleasure of handling it at last night. My first thoughts were that it was a great addition to the current run of the mill smartphones. It definitely had an impressive standout feature with the Crystal display supplied by Sharp. With the disappearing bezel it is guaranteed to catch a few odd looks and head nods in the crowd.
Impressive - at first glance.
The AQUOS is very light and fairly thin, in accordance with today's smartphones. The design is a little off beat a bit also with the location of it's 8 megapixel front facing camera. Instead of the traditional placement of the top left or right, designers decided to drop it to the lower right of the device. Keep in mind when taking pictures, if you take it the traditional way your picture will be upside down.
The Sprint/SoftBank team managed to bring Sharp's AQUOS technology on and at the same time keep this device extremely affordable to it's customers.
