We’ve been teased about it and now it is officially unveiled. Meet the G Watch R by LG. This marks already the 2nd piece using Android Wear to hit the market in less than 6 months. But it is beautiful.
Now this is the G Watch that should’ve been unveiled at I/O.
Gone is the plastic square from the original G Watch. As you now have a durable steel frame, interchageable 22mm calf skin leather strap, and a 1.3inch plastic OLED display makes this a huge step up. It is also IP67 (dust + water resistant) powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of storage.
LG looked to beat the rest of the round smart watch competition w/ an early jump on the announcement. The R will become available sometime during the 4th quarter as no pricing details have been revealed as of yet. Now seeing it in all of its glory, who’s buying one?
