So after letting their rivals beat them to the punch, they are finally ready. This morning Verizon announced the availability of when VoLTE (Voice over LTE) will actually arrive for their customers. The answer is: in coming weeks.
Some of their current devices will support VoLTE + HD Voice while other won’t.
Dubbed under Advanced Calling 1.0, VZW will bring HD Voice + VoLTE to the mix. Making things like switching between video calling and voice calling a seamless process. As this truly takes advantage of being able to use voice and data at the same time. This won’t boost data speeds but more so on the call quality side of things.
AT&T and T-Mobile have already unveiled their plans and have begun rolling the service out already. Glad to hear Verizon is ready to join them.
