Canon seems to have the high-end, point-and-shoot section of cameras on lock down many years ago w/ the S95 + S100. Lately, Sony w/ their RX 100 came through and stole its thunder. Now they’re back w/ their latest PowerShot G7 X.
Canon wants their spot back from Sony.
The G7 X has a 1inch 20.2MP CMOS sensor w/ a 24-100mm f/ 1.8-2.8 lens capable of 4.2x optical zoom, powered by a DIGIC 6 image CPU, Wi-Fi + NFC support, continuous shooting @6.5fps, ISO up to 12,800, 3inch touchscreen display that flips out 180-degrees, and capable of shooting 1080p video @60fps.
The G7 X launches sometime next month for $700.
