This looks like this could be the end of the Ultrapixel experiment. HTC looks finally ditch the tech that aimed for better low-light photos at the expense of lower resolution. According the new guard of leakers on Twitter: UpLeaks, they maybe ditching that technology for a higher resolution shooter.
Looks like R.I.P. Ultrapixels.
Word has it that they will refresh the M8 in the very near future w/ a new 13MP Duo Camera setup dubbed the M8 Eye. It will retain its depth sensor and features that come along w/ it but now w/ a higher resolution shooter. Other than that, the refreshed flagship will run Android 4.4.4 w/ Sense 6.
The M8 Eye is due out sometime in October. So the question is will we see an unveiling at the Double Exposure event on the 8th? We’ll be there live to let you know.
