Another day, another app gets updated sporting that beautiful Material Design look to it. Today’s app is Google Maps. The new look gives it a more fluid scrolling alongside a more robust experience rather than just looking up directions.
To begin to navigate, you now have a dedicated button for it to get started. You now have the Explore Around You tab at the bottom to see a quick glance at the weather, local restaurants, quick bites, parks, and places to play + see. This also adds the ability to make OpenTable restaurant reservations as well as an option for Uber pickup along w/ walking directions so as long as you have the app installed.
This update will begin rolling out today for both Android + iOS platforms.
