Now w/ HBO Now officially here and new services like Sling TV, looks like the cord-cutting movement isn’t going anywhere. Announced last week, Optimum is aiming to be one of the 1st cable companies to spearhead the cord-cutting movement w/ new plans to support it. They have 2 new plans to cater to the streaming life.
We have the Everyday Low Price and the Cord-Cutter packages. The low price bundle includes internet speeds up to 5Mbps along w/ a free digital antenna to access OTA TV channels, access to Optimum’s 1.1million hotspots, and access Freewheel: their Wi-Fi based talk/text/data service similar to Google’s Fi. All for only $34.90 per month as this is the regular price and not a promo.
The Cord-Cutting package includes all of that minus access to their Freewheel service but boosts up the Internet speeds to up to 50Mbps on the download and up to 25Mbps on the upload side of things. This is priced at $44.90 per month but only for the 1st year. Afterwards, it goes up by $10. You can also add HBO Now to the mix as Optimum is only cable/ISP to currently offer it for an additional $14.99 per month.
The service is only available in select areas so if you’re interested, you might want to reach out to see if its available where you live.
