As Apple’s WWDC approaches, we’re getting more & more insight on what we can expect for the next version of iOS. The folks over at 9to5Mac has more details on what to expect.
Their report includes a new iOS initiative codenamed Proactive as it pulls together data from Siri, Contacts, Calendar, Passbook, & 3rd-party apps. This would combine and create Apple’s version of Google Now and be much more of a personal assistant than Siri ever was and completely replace Spotlight feature w/ more detailed & related search results. But that’s not all, Proactive will learn your routines when it comes to apps. It will notice how often you check Facebook or Twitter and display a shortcut for those apps for you. As well as nearby restaurants & info to coincide w/ the times you usually eat.
This sounds wayyy better than what Siri is today and this would be a welcome update. We may or may not see these features arrive w/ iOS 9. Some might get released on a later date. Whatever the case, Apple’s WWDC kicks in a week & a few days on June 8th.
