With all of the ‘early upgrade’ payment options on all carriers, one might figure that it’s only a matter of time before the archaic 2-year contract begin to disappear, right? Looks like that time is coming soon than you think.
According to the sources over at Droid Life, AT&T looks to begin kicking things off starting next month. Not the main company but more so beginning w/ their 3rd-party retailers. This move would leave subscribers having to only choose between AT&T Next or buying a device at full price. But you will still have the option of 2-year contracts online and inside of actual AT&T stores.
Although T-Mobile already got rid of their 2-year contracts as part of their ‘Uncarrier’ moves. Didn’t think another carrier would follow suit so soon but shows what we know. This is a sign of things beginning to change within the wireless industry.
