Apple kicks off WWDC 2015 w/ the new Mac OS X update called El Capitan. Yes, believe it or not, that is the name. It will focus more on your experience and performance on your Macs.
Apple’s Craig Federighi demoed several of the new features coming to El Capitan on stage. So we can expect to see new things like new gestures to do quick actions throughout many apps, the ability to Pin sites in Safari, enhanced Spotlight Search to now include weather & sports scores to the mix, a new enhanced fullscreen view within the Mail app, Split View allows you to run 2 apps at the same damn time bringing multitasking to the Mac, you can now create multiple desktops using the space bar, and new Metal GPU technology to offer better graphics in gaming on the Mac.
It will be free and available in the fall as well as a public beta sometime next month.
