It appears that the rumors and speculation will soon come to an end. Yesterday, OnePlus announced the launch date of their upcoming flagship: the OnePlus 2. It will kick off on July 27th at 7PM PST/10PM EST. In case you didn’t notice the cardboard image in the image above, it will be a launch event taking place entirely in virtual reality.
OnePlus will be providing their own branded version of Google Cardboard 2.0 as well for free while supplies last. In hopes that everyone will be able to watch/experience their VR launch for their upcoming flagship device.
We already know 2 things about that device thus far. It will be powered by a special version of the Snapdragon 810 CPU and will charge via USB Type-C. So from now until then, expect them to release a few more specs/features for the device until they officially let the cat out of the bag.
Expect the return of their invite system before it can be available for all. So who’s looking forward to the OnePlus sequel?
