On Friday afternoon, Tesla held a press conference to drop some news on updates they have in stores for their current vehicles. So if you’re looking for more news on their upcoming Model 3 fleet of vehicles, we aren’t there yet so there won’t be any new developments here about it.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk did announce a new upgrade to their top-of-the-line P85D Model S sedan. Introducing the ‘Ludicrous Speed’ upgrade: now goes from 0-60MPH in 2.8 seconds, quarter mile in 10.9 seconds, and run to 155MPH about 20% faster than your average p85D. This will really press you to the back of your seat. Touting 1.1G of force makes the acceleration faster than falling. It comes w/ a premium of course as it will add $10,000 on top of the car and requires a 90kWh battery upgrade that tacks on another $3,000. Those of you who already own a P85 D. the upgrade will cost you about $5,000.
The upgrade is also set to arrive to the Model X vehicle but w/ it being a bit heavier in weight, it won’t be as fast. But what will be super-fast is their upcoming next-gen Roadster, which will arrive 4 years from now which will be an interesting time as Tesla has more vehicles on the road by then.
