A day that some of you have been waiting for is here. Android Wear can finally play nice w/ iPhones. This news was expected at I/O this year but came a little bit later – just around the time of more Android Wear devices expecting to hit the market.
This gives iPhone users more options w/ better pricing.
It supports devices like the iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6, & 6 Plus running iOS 8.2 or higher. You’ll get all of the same features Android users get as you’ll have access to Google Now cards, some native apps, fitness tracking, and some voice commands. Like every other Google app in iPhone fashion when you open apps on your wrist, it will open inside of the Google/Android Wear app.
Supported AW devices for iOS are the LG Watch Urbane and the Moto 360. While upcoming AW devices like the ASUS ZenWatch 2, Huawei Watch, and the 2nd-gen Moto 360. No word as of yet if any older AW devices will gain support.
Any iPhone users interested? or just awaiting the 2nd-gen Apple Watch? Sound off.
