After much teasing and small mentions, it is officially here! Say hello to Samsung’s latest smartwatches w/ the Gear S2 & Gear S2 Classic. They were kind enough to reveal everything we need to know about them – except pricing of course.
Samsung’s great design comes full circle.
Both devices are more or less the same but there a few differences that may help you decide which one to buy. The Gear S2 sports a minimal & modern design and the Gear S2 Classic sports a more timeless watch design. Both watches offer a circular Super AMOLED display w/ 360 x 360 resolution + 302ppi, measures in at 11.4mm thin, running Tizen, powered by a 1GHz dual-core CPU, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, NFC, heart-rate monitor, and a 250 mAh battery suggested to last 2-3 days.
Also the Gear S2 will offer an option for 3G speeds & voice calling BTW of your carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, & Verizon). Both watches support wireless charging and Samsung Pay via NFC too. Just sucks that it won’t have access to Android Wear apps but it looks pretty damn-good.
