This is more than likely not a big surprise but we can expect to see the Moto X Play make its way to the US but under a different moniker. As part of Verizon’s Droid series as the Droid Maxx 2. There was some chatter about this device over the weekend as we now have some photos to back it up.
The Moto X Play is coming to the US after all.
The Maxx 2 would mirror the specs/features of the Moto X Play. For a recap, it will have a 5.5inch 1080p display, powered by a Snapdragon 615 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 21MP rear-facing camera, and a massive 3630 mAh battery on board. The internal storage appears to have been cut in half as the Maxx 2 appears to have only 8GB of storage available. Not sure why they would do that for a Maxx device though. The rear cover can be removed as well as the battery itself.
BTW, those of you looking for the sequel for the Droid Turbo, it may be a rebranded Moto X Pure Edition. More than likely priced higher than the Maxx 2 as it appears to be offered as a more of a mid-range device these days.
