iPhone 6s stock BIts almost iPhone Time!  We’re approaching that time where you either wait up or take a nap and get up in time to pre-order.  This process is like trying to see what Santa dropped off for adults & techies.  Anyhoo, there are a number of factors to consider when buying the new iPhone.  Especially if you’re on the fence about which one, color, storage size to buy.  We’re here to make the decision process a lot easier by pointing a few things out.iphone 6s stock 2

  • Using the Apple Store app will probably be your best bet in securing one via iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.  For the previous iPhone launches, it has been way better than going the route of Apple’s site or even your carrier’s site.  You can actually log into that app right now and pre-fill your info to be ready to go when 12AM PST/3AM EST comes around.
  • Like last year’s iPhones, only the bigger 5.5inch 6s Plus has a 1080p display w/ 401ppi.  The 1080p resolution is only important for those of you who’re concerned w/ consuming content and worried about resolution.  The 4.7inch 6s only has a 1334 x 750 resolution w/ 326ppi.
  • The 6s Plus also offers OIS for its rear cameras.  While having OIS is crucial for those of you who take low-light photos and those who plan on taking plenty of video (4K or full HD).  This will help keeping the footage straight for those w/ shaky hands.  You iPhone photographers/videographers out there will want to go bigger.
  • The batteries inside of the new S-line are a bit smaller due to the new taptic engine for 3D Touch.  Still the 6s Plus is a bigger phone that means a bigger battery lies inside.  Apple rates the 6s Plus battery offering up to 24 hours of talk time, 16 days of standby, 12 hours of web browsing, 14 hours of video, and 80 hours of audio.  This is almost double than what the standard 6s is offering.
  • NEVER EVER BUY A 16GB IPHONE!  This rules applies now more than ever w/ all of the new features coming w/ the 2015 S-line of iPhones.  The new Live Photos feature is an interesting one that takes up double the space of a 12MP image.   It may just look like a GIF but it capture sound as well.  Next up, the addition of 4K video can be a real space hog.  Even if Apple managed to compress it somehow, it will still take up more space than 1080p video (no matter the length of it).  Hopefully by next year Apple will stop selling 16GB storage sizes.
  • For those of you looking to flip these new 2015 iPhones, that Rose Gold color will more than likely have a higher resell value over the rest of the colors.  A 64GB Rose Gold iPhone will be a hot item for those who couldn’t get through to order one later this morning.

Definitely hope these tidbits help out in your decision-making process of which iPhone to get.  Even though these tips push you towards at least a 64GB iPhone 6s Plus, you’re budget may not allow for that or the 5.5inch iPhone might be too big for you and your needs.  You gotta go w/ what is best for you and your situation.
