For the uninitiated, Verizon has been a big champion on encouraging students to grow w/ technology.  Their latest effort is their Verizon Innovative App Challenge as it enters the 4th year.  This is their contest to create an app involving no coding skills for middle & high school students.

This time around, they’ve teamed up w/ Bill Nye The Science Guy to encourage students to challenge themsleves to develop an app concept that could solve a dilemma.  The winner will receive a $20,000 grant and tablets for each student.

The previous winners made apps to help w/ teen depression, allergies, & child obesity as well as invited to present at the White House Science Fair.  For you young, up-and-coming creators or parents fo creators; hit the link below for more info and to enter.
