Finally, the 3rd electric vehicle from Tesla has arrived w/ the Model X. This is their crossover SUV unveiled last night in Cali and more details have been unearthed. If you remember what the Model X used to look like, it is not the same vehicle.
The Falcon Doors make the Lambo doors look boring.
The Model X is said to be the safest & fastest SUV on the market right now. It ships standard w/ all-wheel drive, a 90kWh battery w/ 250 miles of range per charge, seats up to 7 adults & gear. It can go from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. The new Falcon Doors are awesome as when they open up automatically when you get near them, the seats move up to gain access to the back row. Sensors on the doors can actually detect the roof height to decide how far they will open.
It will still do SUV stuff like being able to tow up to 5,000 pounds too. On the inside, it has a 17inch touchscreen along w/ the largest windshield you’ll have ever seen. The windshield actually blends in w/ the sunroof that connects w/ those lovely Falcon Doors.
The SUV will arrive in 2 models w/ the P90D Signature for $132,000 & P90D Founder edition for $142,000. There will be cheaper models coming later down the line that is said to cost $5,000 more than the Model S. New reservation swill begin shipping in the latter half of 2016.
