Apple surprised everyone this morning w/ brand-new iMacs for the world to enjoy. The usual bump up includes beefed up internals but this time we got a big selling point to add to the mix. Introducing new Retina displays for the iMac.
Apple includes a new Red-Green phosphor LEDs to obviously improve the color accuracy of reds & greens while other LEDs focused more so on Blues. This makes for a new 21.5inch iMac w/ a 4K display option and the 27inch now touts a 5K display.
On the inside, the new iMacs will be powered by a 6th-gen quad-core Intel CPUs (from a 3.2GHz Core i5 to a 4GHz Core i7), up to 32GB of RAM, and storage starting at 1TB. Alongside the new iMacs, Apple is also rolling out new versions of their wireless keyboard, magic mouse, and wireless trackpads.
The 21.5inch iMac starts at $1099 for the 1080p model and $14,99 for the 4K model. The 27inch iMac starts at $1,799. New iMacs begin shipping today.
