Today, AT&T announced a new network-based service called NumberSync. This will allow subscribers to use one phone number across multiple devices so you’ll always be connected if you left your phone at home.
It will work w/ smartphones, tablets, and SIM-capable smartwatches. However, NumberSync won’t allow you to use 2 phones sharing the same number as it is set up to be more of a backup or secondary way to keep you connected. It won’t matter the device as NumberSync will work corss-platform (Android, iOS, Blackberry, or Windows devices). Just as long as you are a part of AT&T’s Mobile Share plan, you’ll be able to take advantage of it.
The service is expected to rollout later this month w/ a smartwatch to support it being released at launch. More devices are expected for the holiday season as well.
