We heard rumblings of this happening and today it finally did. Sony gave the PS4 a well-deserved price cut by $50. Last month, Japan got a price cut so it was only a matter of time before it made its way to the US.
This would make their next-gen console on par w/ the Xbox One – being priced at $350. In Canada, the price cut isn’t as big as it goes from $449.99 to $429.99. The system has been selling for $399.99 since its launch back in late 2013 and is the 1st time they’ve adjusted its pricing. Along w/ a cheaper price point, Sony will begin pushing several bundles for the holidays.
Like the 500GB Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for $350 on October 9th, a 1TB Call OF Duty: Black Ops III bundle for $430 on November 6th, and a 500GB Star Wars: Battlefront bundle for $350 or a 1TB limited edition bundle for $400 on November 17th.
Looks like w/ all of the different bundles coming for both PS4 & Xbox One, it will be an interesting holiday season to upgrade to a next-gen console.
