If you haven’t used Google Photos yet, you should get into – especially for those of you who are running low in storage space in either Android or iOS. It can do wonders for your photos in regards to editing, GIF creation, and its Auto-Awesome feature. It does store 1080p videos as well, but it lacks any type of editing feature for the video side of things. Looks like Google is looking to finally change that.
3 Reasons Why You Should Be Using Google Photos
On Friday, Google announced the acquisition of a small video editing app called Fly Labs. They’re behind 4 simple editing apps for iOS: Clips, Fly, Tempo, and Crop. Clips and Fly are your basic editors while Crop is a quick fix to videos that were recorded vertically, and Tempo adds speed adjustments like slow-motion & time lapse) into the mix.
It’s funny as I asked the head of Google Photos back at I/O about plans of adding video editing to the app and its coming sooner rather than later. In the meantime, iOS users can grab these apps for free over the next 3 months. After that, they will lose any type of support.
