Google’s Project Fi just got more interesting as it finally expands beyond Nexus phones. Subscribers can now make use of it in tablets now. Not just Nexus tablets either, they’re opening this up to all of the popular slates currently in the market.
Now you can use Fi w/ the Nexus 7, the Nexus 9, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S, the iPad mini 4, and the iPad Air 2. Word has it that it would work w/ any device that’s unlocked. For the uninitiated, Project Fi utilizes the best of Sprint, T-Mobile, and Wi-Fi to offer you the best service.
Nothing will change in regards to its pricing as it will still be the standard $10 per GB per month. But you still need to pony up for the $20 for voice/text per month. Also, don’t expect to utilize your tablet to tether.
So now you can give your slate data w/ being confined to a Wi-Fi area. You’ll have to order a data-only SIM to take advantage of this, though.
