att logoWell, it was bound to happen as AT&T has officially written the obituary on 2-year contracts.  This will apply to all subscribers (new or existing) beginning on January 8th.  You’ll have to choose only from full pricing & phone leasing.

The upside is for those of you looking to get out of your contract early, your time approaches.  This will grant you early freedom for you to jump ship or grab the new flames.  Of course, we’ll miss out on the joys of the one-time price of $100 or $200 for a new phone.  Those days are officially over, unfortunately.  It will be a good time for unlocked phone manufacturers who want to bypass all of this nonsense.

What do you AT&T subscribers think of about this?
