We’re only into the 1st few weeks of 2016 but that doesn’t mean the new device rumors will slow down. We already got word on what to expect from the 2016 Nexus smartphones from Google. According to a report from China’s Weibo, HTC will be behind them this year.
Nexus 9 Review
Them as in HTC will be making both Nexus devices this year. They kicked off the Nexus program w/ the Nexus One and most recently the Nexus 9 tablet. We can expect Google to retain the different sizes for their Nexus smartphones as the report suggests a 5inch & a 5.5inch design. No other specs or features have been discussed as of yet but we know it will run the latest OS of Android N set to be revealed later this year.
Nexus 6P Review
Interesting move as many Nexus users absolutely love the 6P from Huawei as I do. I’m sure many hoped that they would get another shot at the Nexus program but if this report holds true, that won’t be the case. HTC has some big shoes to fill as we know they can make great hardware but they must beat or at least get the same camera the 6P has or else the fans won’t want it.
Again if any of this becomes a reality, thoughts on HTC handling Nexus duties for 2016.
