As CES kicks off this week in Vegas, LG decided to get a head start on some of their announcements like this one. We know companies are going to pushing more affordable 4KTVs this year. But LG hopes to add an edge to their w/ their new TV lineup.
Say hello to High Dynamic Range or HDR on a 4KTV. HDR will boost your contrast ratio & color accuracy to further improve the visuals on your TV. LG is dubbing it HDR Plus as it also includes Color Prime Plus, which is a new filter that replicates cinema quality color. So in other words, this is LG’s version of Dolby Vision. These new features will arrive on the 2016 4KTVs along w/ their new webOS 3.0 software.
These can be found on LG’s new UH9500 & UH9550 models which ship w/ a new IPS display as well. No word on pricing for their lineup just yet but we can expect to hear more about this week at CES.
