Remember when Lenovo purchased Motorola? Yeah, apparently there was a grand plan involved and it appears we have arrived to it. Lenovo will soon cut the Motorola brand and everything will be Lenovo products moving forward. *insert sad emoji here*
Motorola COO Rick Osterloh spoke w/ CNET at CES and he laid it all out by saying soon you’ll see the Lenovo brand on Motorola phones in the very near future. It will take time before the Moto brand will completely disappear. They will still retain the brand for their high-end offerings like the Moto X. Whew. I love Lenovo but wasn’t looking forward to the Lenovo X name.
Lenovo plans to retain the M icon on their devices so they won’t completely be gone. Just the name unfortunately. Moto has been innovating the cellphone industry for decades but now it will be more so under the Lenovo brand. Bummer.
