Galaxy S6 stockLooks like Samsung is finally rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 family (S6 + S6 edge).  Earlier today, they announced the update beginning to roll out bringing new features to your devices.

In regards to Marshmallow, we expect to see the additions of Google Now On Tap which allows you to search anything contextual w/ a tap of a button.  Also, a new layout for the app drawer & app suggestions features, new app permissions, and new battery-saving features.  The S6 gets the basics but the S6 edge gets a little bit more additions.

The S6 edge adds larger panels for app support, Tasks Edge to join People & Apps Edge screens which offer more apps & screen real estate for you to use, a new Quick Tools edge panel that adds quick access to a ruler, a compass, and a flashlight, customization for to access the Edge panels, and support for more 3rd-party apps to utilize the Edge panel.

It’s great that all of this is coming to the devices but the timing could’ve have been a lot better.  The new Galaxy S7 devices are due out to be unveiled in a few short weeks though.
