We suspected that this would happen eventually and thanks to a new report, we may see this sooner rather than later. Apple’s next Mac OS X update v10.12 is said to launch later in the fall and will bring along a feature new to Macs but familiar to iOS and watchOS: Siri.
According to the folks over at 9to5Mac, Apple’s vision for Siri on the Mac is finally ready for primetime. It is said that the company has been testing the feature internally for several years now on the Mac and should be ready for WWDC in June this year.
Siri on the Mac is said to live on the Mac’s Menu Bar similar to Spotlight on the top-right corner of the screen. Users will be able to utilize the “Hey Siri” command w/ its always-listening feature and other abilities should match that of those on iOS. Other than the addition of their virtual assistant, we’re not expecting too many big changes to arrive w/ the new OS X update other than UI tweaks & refinements. We should hear more rumblings on what to expect as we get closer to WWDC.
So who’s looking forward to using Siri on their iMac or MacBook?
