Even though Apple just unveiled the 4inch iPhone SE, they’re still at work on the iPhone 7 due out later this year. Word on the street is that Apple is already looking to up their ante for next year’s version. The folks over at 9to5Mac reported that Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo will reinvent their smartphone in 2017 like they did w/ the iPhone 4 back in 2010.
The iPhone set to be released as early as 2017 will be equipped w/ a 5.8inch OLED display, glass on the front + back w/ metal sides, and a new form factor. Armed w/ narrower bezels and curved display, the 5.8inch display could be a little smaller form factor than your average smartphone in that size. It is also said to include new biometric security features & wireless charging.
Definitely sounds like Apple is looking to follow Samsung’s S7 Edge take on an upcoming iPhone in many ways. I just hope moving forward, Apple can ditch the weird resolutions and keep their screens at a 1080p minimum. We’ll keep you informed as more leaks & reports on the matter surface. In the meantime, you’ll have to play the waiting game to see how this all plays out.
