Android NOut of nowhere, Google made sure that we wouldn’t have to wait for I/O this year to get a taste of the next version of Android.   The developer preview for Android N is now available for developers and enthusiasts.  They are mixing things up this time around by adding the option to download via OTA too.

Kicking things off is the feature we’ve been waiting for and kind of had an idea it was coming: multi-window mode.  This will allow you to make use of your screen real estate by making apps part side-by-side as well as a picture-in-picture video mode.  Next up, you have direct reply notifications to reply right away. Consider it a more fine-tuned version of the Quick Reply feature that is available now for Hangouts but will now work on all apps.    You have more accessible quick settings w/o having to swipe down twice, Android TV recording support, data savings abilities via a toggle, call screening, number blocking and better battery life thanks to enhancements to Doze.

As per usual, the preview can be buggy at times until they fix things before the final release.  You can hit the link below to grab it in case you’re interested.  It is definitely a great time to be a Nexus owner (5X, 6, 6P, 9, Player, or a Pixel C).
