Today Plantronics announced the latest in technology, design, & comfort to their new Bluetooth headset: the Voyager 5200 series. You can consider this a massive upgrade from the previous Voyager Bluetooth accessories. They will arrive in a tandem pair w/ the 5200 & the 5200 UC. The difference is that the UC can be made for both mobile and work as it ships w/ the charging case & Bluetooth dongle to connect w/ a PC/Mac.
Kicking things off in the what’s new category is their new WindSmart technology which utilizes its windscreen on its boom mic coupled w/ 4 omnidirectional mics to knock out background noise & retain your voice’s clarity. It brings over the Smart Sensors from the BackBeat line that allows you to end your call when you take the headset off. it touts a Psi nano-coating that helps the accessory be spill, splash, & sweatproof but not quite waterproof. Now offering up to 7 hours of talk-time on a single charge and w/ the charging case ups the ante to 14 hours of juice.
Other than that, Bluetooth range allows you to be up to 98ft away from one of your 2 connected devices. The multifunction button allows you to mute a call or access Siri & Google Now. As well as allow for voice commands & audio alerts to tell you when your battery is low and such.
The Vogayer 5200 is out today priced at $120 and the charging case will cost you $40. While the Voyager 5200 UC will ship in May for $220.
