Earlier this week, the folks over at Seagate unveiled a new take on a massive external hard drive. Meet the Innov8: an 8TB external HD powered by only a USB-C. Without the need of a power plug, this HD is ideal for laptops as well as home PCs.
While this is your standard storage & not the solid state kind, this might be a slight turn off but Seagate makes up for it w/ USB 3.1 support. You can do a lot w/ 8TB as you can fill it up w/ 2 million songs, 4 million photos, and 800 HD videos. It also comes equipped w/ its own software that can schedule backups, 200GB of Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage, and Lyve software support as well. Not bad for the 1st of its kind being powered only via USB-C.
The Innov8 is due out later this month w/ a $350 price tag. For those of you who creatives (photographers, videographers, etc.), this might be the HD made for you.
