Being a tech blogger, there are tons of devices (smartphones & tablets) laying around my home that I utilize here and there. Now w/ the rise of USB-C powered devices, switching adapters from micro-USB & USB-C can be a bit tedious. Thankfully, there is something out there to help out w/ that.
Meet the TYLT Energi Charging Station: a 5-port fast-charging solution w/ built-in cable management, and a removable battery pack. Now we've had it for a few weeks now and we're ready to talk about it and tell you why you need this in your life. Let's get into it.
For starters, 4 of the 5 ports pump out 2.4 amps that offer a faster charge than your average charger. While the 5th 1 amp port doubles as a 3200 mAh battery pack. The Energi Charging Station utilizes SmartDetect technology that can automatically decide which device gets the most power. Some of you might complain about the size of the battery pack being only 3200 mAh battery. But it is still big enough to charge a smartphone at least once and/or give your phone some juice before dying. It also offers an LED indicator to show off the battery life of the pack so you know where you stand.
Keep in mind, the higher amps within the ports aren't comparable to Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 technology. While its not as slow as your standard charger but sits in the nice in-between in the speed department. Having multiple ports is definitely a blessing. Shuffling between w/ the HTC 10, Nexus 6P, Pixel C, Galaxy S7, and S7 Edge can be troublesome as the 1st 3 mentioned devices are USB-C and the latter 2 are still microUSB. If I had an Apple device, I could throw a Lightning cable on their to offer juice to all types of devices.
This is an ideal charging solution for homes w/ multiple devices.
