xbox one sSay hello, officially, to the new-and-improved Xbox One S.  It kind of leaked out yesterday evening as Microsoft made sure to kick off their E3 press conference by unveiling it.  We got some of the big details and now we have everything there is to know about it.

The Xbox One S will offer a 40% smaller console than the original Xbox One console w/ the power supply (brick) now integrated as part of the console.  It comes in the fresh Robot White color palette too.  On the inside, we have support for high-quality visuals w/ 4K Ultra HD video support as well as 4K UHD Blu-Ray and HDR for both gaming and video.  One of the USB ports is now int he front and you have a built-in IR blaster.  For Kinect users, you will need a separate USB adapter as the One S chucked the dedicated Kinect sensor.

The newer console will offer up a new controller as well.  It will carry the same White color as it now adds textured grips, Bluetooth support for a longer wireless range.  This also means you will be able to use the same controller for both PC and Windows.

There will be a program for current Xbox One owners who want to upgrade.  The Xbox One S will arrive in a special limited edition launch edition in early August for $399.  The 2 standard versions will arrive later: $299 for the 500GB model & $349 for the 1TB model.
