Despite already changing the game within their 114-year history w/ previous concepts like the Eleven, Ciel convertible and Elmiraj, It's time for them to do it again. Cadillac unveiled yet another breath-taking concept vehicle called the Escala at Pebble Beach Concour d'Elegance last night. The name itself means scale in Spanish as this is not smaller concept w/ its larger presence as a sedan.
At this point, the name Cadillac should be synonymous w/ game-changer.
Let's get right into it. The Escala is large as in bigger than the CT6 as the new concept is 210.5inches in length - 6 inches longer than the CT6 to be exact. Under the hood is a new 4.2-liter twin turbo V8 engine prototype in development for future Cadillac models. It will be RWD (rear-wheel drive) w/ a new fuel management system that sips gas like a 4-cylinder. The car will sit on 22inch wheels w/ 2 layers of spokes and a 3-D precision pattern for the grille.
Inside, you have 3 thin + curved OLED screens in the front that will allow you to view all of your gauges and such. The interior will be assembled using hand cut & sewn techniques for the door trim and seating areas. The interior is also separated into 2 sections: modern technology in the front & relaxation is the focus in the back.
Much of what you see in this concept will make its way down to future Cadillac models. What feature are you looking forward to trickling down to the new Cadillac?
