directv_nowYesterday, AT&T announced their latest streaming TV option under the name: DirecTV Now.  AT&T wasted no time in utilizing the newly-acquired DirecTV for a new way to watch TV - w/o a contract or boxes and such.  The new service will kick off tomorrow, November 30th, starting at $35 per month.  Now for all of the details about it all below.

AT&T may have just unearthed the best streaming solution.

directv-now-channelsDirecTV Now offers a variety of options w/ the choice of 60+ and up to 120+ channels.  The pricing and channel options you can see above in the graphic and below as well.

  • Live a Little – $35 per month (60+ channels)
  • Just Right – $50 per month (80+ channels)
  • Go Big – $60 per month (100+ channels)
  • Gotta Have it – $70 per month (120+ channels)

Believe it or not, you can actually add HBO & Cinemax for $5 each per month.  This price point will place this cheaper than HBO Now and even other streaming TV options.

For now, the service will support devices like the Amazon Fire TV/Fire TV Stick, Chromecast, Google Cast supported LeEco ecotvs & Vizio SmartCast TVs, Android devices, iOS devices including Apple TV, and internet browsers like Chrome, Internet Explorer, & Safari.  Look out for Amazon Fire tablets, Samsung Smart TVs, and Chromecast iOS support coming for next year.

When this kicks off, interested consumers can get 3 months of DirecTV Now prepaid when you get an Apple TV, 1 month of the service free when you get the 2nd-gen Fire Stick w/ Alexa or when you buy a Lenovo laptop w/ Intel Core i3/5/7 CPU.  And lastly, AT&T subscribers can stream DirecTV Now w/o it counting against your data.

This sounds like a pretty sweet situation.  You can try it out for a month before you have to cough up some $$$.  So who's looking forward to this?
