With 2016 being pretty much done and over with, word is that Samsung is already looking to repair their ranks in smartphone hierarchy w/ a new device: the Galaxy S8. Typically, their new Galaxy S devices are unveiled at Mobile World Congress for a March release. That may change this year.
According to the report from Naver, Samsung may shoot for its own dedicated event in April in NYC for the Galaxy S8 reveal and a possible availability early summer. Pushing things back will give them time to do more quality testing to prevent another Note 7 fiasco making ‘exploding phones’ the new joke of the year.
At the current time, rumors have the S8 sporting a bezel-less QHD display w/ the Home button now part of the display panel, no more 3.5mm headphone jack, their new virtual assistant, and a possible dual-lens camera system. It may cost a little bit more than the Galaxy S7 too.
Who’s looking forward to seeing what Samsung has to offer w/ the Galaxy S8? Or are you finished w/ Samsung as a phone company?
