We kind of heard rumblings of Microsoft looking to enter the home assistant space (like the Amazon Echo & Google Home) and now we have a better idea of what exactly to expect.  Thanks to the folks over at The Verge, we get to see the first of many in their Home Assistant products.

It will obviously be powered by Cortana at the heart of it all.  This particular product will be armed w/ Harman Kardon audio for its speaker technology.  The video about shows off a bit of what we can expect from Cortana’s user interface that lights up and such.

This is only the beginning as Microsoft has plans to bring Cortana to everything from fridges, toasters, thermostats, etc.  This will make for plenty of devices w/ screens to be powered by Cortana as it will arrive to more integration of the Internet Of Things.  Anyways, the speaker above is set to be unveiled sometime early next year.

What do you guys think thus far of Microsoft’s 1st take on things?
