Galaxy S8Well what do you know?  After Samsung talking about skipping MWC this year, we got privy to what their new flagship will be working with.  Yesterday, the folks over at Venture Beat dropped a leaked image, specs, and announcement/release date for the upcoming Galaxy S8.

The S8 is all screen in the front and more of the same on the back.

As you can see from above, the S8 looks super-familiar from the S7/S7 edge.  They will offer 2 sizes/flavors of the Galaxy S8 in a 5.8inch & 6.2inch size.  We got a bigger display w/o the Home & navigation buttons.  Samsung moved the fingerprint scanner on the rear next to the camera module.  The display will have a bigger screen w/ an unusual 18:5:9 aspect ratio.

As far as the rest of the specs, we got a 5.8inch/6.2inch QHD AMOLED display, Snapdragon 835/Samsung Exynos, 4GB of RAM + 64GB of storage w/ microSD expansion, f/1.7 12MP rear-facing camera + f/1.7 8MP front-facing camera, 3000 mAh battery (5.8inch)/3500 mAh battery (6.2inch), and a headphone jack/USB-C/water-resistant body.

So along w/ the rumored virtual assistant to come along w/ it, Samsung will offer a desktop experience called DeX similar to Windows Continuum.  It will have a HDMI dock to offer a desktop view of Android via monitor, keyboard, etc.

And when will we see it officially?  The S8 is said to be unveiled on March 29th in NYC and available for purchase on April 21st.  So who’s saving up for one?
