Huawei’s Honor brand wanted to be the 1st new smartphone for 2017 and this looks pretty good thus far. We have a new Honor smartphone for the new year bringing forth more premium features within an affordable package. Say hello to the Honor 6X.
Huawei is doing a great job within the sea of Android smartphones.
The Honor 6X offers up an all-metal aluminum unibody design. Along w/ that you have a 5.5inch 1080p display + 403ppi, powered by their own Kirin 655 octa-core CPU, 3GB/4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage along w/ microSD expansion, a rear dual camera setup w/ 12MP + 2MP, with an 8MP front-facing shooter, a 3340 mAh battery, rear fingerprint reader, microUSB instead of USB-C, and running Android Marshmallow w/ EMUI 4.1 w/ Nougat update coming soon.
A bit more info on their camera setup. The 6X is borrowing from the iPhone 7 Plus Portrait Mode feature. Both shooters have a wide aperture range w/ the 12MP handling the main photo while the 2MP handles the depth of field & effect.
Pre-orders for the 6X kick off later on today w/ a price point of $249 and an early bird special of only $199. The official launch kicks off on January 10th and will be sold at places like Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, and Honor’s site.
